Heart Felt Shoulder Clinger

The heart felt Clinger is a true romantic. If you ever took them to one they'd be shouting their love for you from the roof top. In general they'd be shouting it from your shoulder where it hangs. A light pink cotton is boldly detailed with fuzzy red hearts.

Polarfleece hearts reinforced with cotton fusing onto repurporsed cotton bed sheets.

Outer - Repurposed cotton bedsheets reinforced with organic cotton batting and detailed with polarfleece scraps (polyester) and cotton fusing from @circularsourcing.

Inner - Organic cotton calico

Hardware - Mechanically recycled polyester YKK zip

Label - Organic cotton canvas, digitally printed with a water based pigment ink by Next State Print

Thread - Polyester
Spot clean your Clinger with a damp cloth and mild detergent or an appropriate solution dependent on the type of stain.

If required, handwash or gentle machine wash with warm water and mild detergent.

Leave your Clinger to dry out of direct sunlight.
This Clinger has a lengthy life ahead of it. However, if the spark fades and you don’t want your kids/grandkids to find it in your attic and take it out on the town, then here is what to do;

Repair - If your old friend is looking a bit shabby, giving it some love and attention to set things back on track.

Pass it on - find someone else who will enjoy the company.

Find another use for it - could it be a handy make up bag or a hanging vase for fresh or dried flowers?

Recycle it - Although they aren’t widely accessible currently there are textile recycling facilities across Australia.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we also offer free repairs within the first year of your Clinger’s life. This includes mending things like broken seams and zips. Today our bags are wrapped in custom illustrated tissue paper, packed into a recycled Kraft cardboard box and protected from the weather by a recycled plastic mailer.

Why did we choose recycled plastic mailers over compostable ones?

This was a personal choice as we believe that recycled mailers are more likely to be handled correctly after use. These mailers can be recycled with soft plastics wherever Redcycle collects i.e. Coles or Woolies. We don’t believe home or industrial composting is as highly accessible to Australians compared to soft plastics recycling.

Compostable mailers need to be composted in either an industrial composting facility or a home compost as it requires the right conditions to break down. Hence, when these mailers end up in landfill they won’t decompose.
