Tie Me Up Shoulder Clinger

The Tie Me Up Shoulder Clinger is only asking you to tie up their bow, cheeky. This is always going to be the prettiest bag in a room and together you'll make quite the pair.

Made from delightful, soft blue remnant silk fabric and sewn with an extra long bow in place of the strap for an adjustable fit of your dreams. Wear it however you like.

Outer - Silk Taffeta remnant fabric from @reversegarbage

Inner - Cotton calico

Hardware - Mechanically recycled polyester YKK zip

Label - Organic cotton canvas, digitally printed with a water based pigment ink by Next State Print

Thread - Polyester

Hang tag - Reused cardboard laser cut and engraved by @modelcraftmodel makers. Tied with Neon green cotton cord sourced from @reversegarbage.
Spot clean your Clinger with a damp cloth and mild detergent or an appropriate solution dependent on the type of stain. Follow instructions for silk fabrics.
If required, handwash with cool water and mild detergent. soak for a few minutes then gently agitate the item in the water. drain the water the water then run under cool water until it runs clear.
Leave your Clinger to dry out of direct sunlight.

This Clinger has a lengthy life ahead of it. However, if the spark fades and you don’t want your kids/grandkids to find it in your attic and take it out on the town, then here is what to do;

Repair - If your old friend is looking a bit shabby, giving it some love and attention to set things back on track.

Pass it on - find someone else who will enjoy the company.

Find another use for it - could it be a handy make up bag or a hanging vase for fresh or dried flowers?

Recycle it - Although they aren’t widely accessible currently there are textile recycling facilities across Australia.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we also offer free repairs within the first year of your Clinger’s life. This includes mending things like broken seams and zips. Please get in touch to see if your Clinger qualifies. You’ll just need to cover the cost of shipping and we’ll sort the rest!
Finding the right packaging for these lovely Clingers will be an ongoing journey.

Today our bags are wrapped in custom illustrated tissue paper, packed into a recycled Kraft cardboard box and protected from the weather by a recycled plastic mailer.

Why did we choose recycled plastic mailers over compostable ones?

This was a personal choice as we believe that recycled mailers are more likely to be handled correctly after use. These mailers can be recycled with soft plastics wherever Redcycle collects i.e. Coles or Woolies. We don’t believe home or industrial composting is as highly accessible to Australians compared to soft plastics recycling.

Compostable mailers need to be composted in either an industrial composting facility or a home compost as it requires the right conditions to break down. Hence, when these mailers end up in landfill they won’t decompose.

Due to Australia’s recent pause of soft plastic recycling we are researching alternative mailers and will continue to use up our current supplies.
